This is a basic introduction to oil paint and colour mixing. You will be shown and practice how to keep your colours clean, how to make your colours more unique and interesting and how to avoid making your colours muddy. This is a short course, but will be very helpful for students who have been struggling with colour mixing and need to know the basic principles.
You will complete this course with an easy reference colour chart for later self-guidance.
OPTION 2: COMPREHENSIVE COLOUR MIXING
6 weeks (2 ½ hours once a week)
Morning and evening classes available.
This is a fully comprehensive colour course well suited for artist and students alike. Students who take their oil painting seriously and want to mix their colours correctly will learn more ways to make colours instead of just taking straight from the tube. This course is intense, but really interesting. You will see how to brighten colours, how to get the correct depth you desire and how to keep your colours clean.
